How to Install

MagiSweep is distributed as a DMG file — no App Store needed. Install it in under a minute.

Step 1

Download

Click the Download for macOS button to get the DMG file.

Step 2

Open the DMG

Double-click the downloaded .dmg file to mount it.

Step 3

Drag to Applications

Drag the MagiSweep icon into the Applications folder.

Step 4

Launch

Open MagiSweep from your Applications folder or Spotlight.

First Launch — macOS Gatekeeper

Since MagiSweep is not from the App Store, macOS may show a warning on first launch. To open the app:

  1. 1. Right-click (or Control-click) on MagiSweep in your Applications folder
  2. 2. Select Open from the context menu
  3. 3. Click Open in the confirmation dialog

You only need to do this once. Alternatively, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway.

Optional: Grant Full Disk Access

For a deeper scan, grant Full Disk Access in System Settings → Privacy & Security → Full Disk Access. This allows MagiSweep to find files in system-protected directories. The app works fine without it too.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is MagiSweep really free?
The core app uninstaller is free forever with no limits. Developer tools (cache cleanup, AI/ML models, VMs, runtime versions) will be available as a one-time Pro upgrade — no subscriptions, no recurring fees.
Is it safe to use?
Absolutely. MagiSweep never hard-deletes files. Everything goes to your macOS Trash, so you can always restore files if you change your mind. No data ever leaves your Mac.
Does it work on Apple Silicon?
Yes. MagiSweep is a universal binary that runs natively on both Apple Silicon (M1/M2/M3/M4) and Intel Macs.
What macOS versions are supported?
MagiSweep supports macOS 12 (Monterey) and later.
Do I need Full Disk Access?
MagiSweep works without Full Disk Access, but granting it allows deeper scanning of system-protected directories for a more thorough cleanup.
How do I install MagiSweep?
Download the DMG file, open it, and drag MagiSweep into your Applications folder. On first launch, macOS may show a Gatekeeper warning — just right-click the app, select Open, then click Open again to confirm. You only need to do this once. For detailed steps, see the Installation guide.
How is this different from CleanMyMac or AppCleaner?
